Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is offering a two-year Trainee Science and Manufacturing Technician apprenticeship within its Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit. You will gain hands-on experience in chemotherapy preparation while working toward a Level 3 SMT qualification and becoming a registered Science and Manufacturing Technician.

The role requires GCSEs including Maths, English and Science, attention to detail and a commitment to learning.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs including Mathematics, English Language and Science
• Ability to complete the Science and Manufacturing Technician qualification in 2 years
• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
• A Levels or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Support provision of pharmaceutical services to the Trust.
• Attend weekly study days and complete SMT qualification to become registered.
• Work with pharmacists and technicians to ensure safe, effective patient treatment.
• Utilise isolator technology and clean room facilities for chemotherapy medicines.
