Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is offering a two-year Trainee Science and Manufacturing Technician apprenticeship in Stevenage. You will work in Pharmacy Manufacturing, gaining the Level 3 SMT qualification while helping prepare and supply medicines used to treat patients.

Applicants should have 5 GCSEs including Maths, English and Science; commitment to study is essential. Year 1 salary is 70% of top of band 4, year 2 is 75%; 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths, English and Science
• Ability to complete the SMT Level 3 qualification in 2 years
• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
• A Levels or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Attend weekly study days and complete the Level 3 SMT qualification
• Assist with pharmaceutical services and patient care in LMCC
• Work with pharmacists and technicians to ensure safe drug therapy
• Utilise isolator technology and clean room facilities for preparing chemotherapy medicines
• Provide a comprehensive pharmacy service while following a structured training programme
