Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust offers a two-year Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit apprenticeship combining hands-on practice with a Level 3 Science and Manufacturing Technician qualification.

You will prepare and label chemotherapy medicines in isolator and clean room facilities, dispensing doses for the Lister Macmillan Cancer Centre, while joining a structured training programme and weekly study days.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs at A*-C or 9-5 including Maths, English and Science (double science accepted)
• Ability to complete the Science and Manufacturing Technician qualification within 2 years

Responsibilities

• Prepare and label chemotherapy and extemporaneous medicines using isolator tech and clean rooms
• Dispense individual chemotherapy doses from batch products
• Collaborate with pharmacists and technicians to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
• Provide a comprehensive pharmacy service within a structured training programme
• Support pharmaceutical services across the Trust
• Complete the Level 3 SMT qualification and meet all deadlines
• Attend study days weekly
• Act as an in-process checker (accredited)
