Job summary

Asda in South Shields is hiring a Pharmacy Colleague for a permanent part‑time role. The position is 30 hours per week with a pay rate of £13.10 per hour, days shifts, and weekend work required.

An enhanced safeguarding check is required, and you'll help assemble and process prescriptions while promoting pharmacy services. You'll train to become a Medicines Counter Assistant within 6 months, progressing to a Dispensing Assistant.

Qualifications

• Pass an enhanced safeguarding check.
• Weekend working is a requirement of the role.
• Willing to complete accredited course to become a Medicines Counter Assistant within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and process prescriptions accurately.
• Support the Pharmacist with patient services and record keeping (blood pressure checks, smoking cessation schemes, etc).
• Promote pharmacy services (Prescription Collection Service, Medicines Use Reviews).
• Collect prescriptions from doctors' surgeries and bring to store for collection.
