Job summary

Practice Plus Group - Health in Justice is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant for HMP Oakwood. The role involves general dispensary duties and stock management within a busy pharmaceutical team, delivering a reliable service across prison wings.

You will support the hub with order collection, prescription reception, and dispensing activities, with a 37.5-hour week and a salary of £25,557 per annum. Vetting and UK right-to-work are required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills
• Medicines handling experience desirable not essential
• Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
• A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Good IT skills and IT literacy
• Ability to work within a busy environment
• Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Responsibilities

• Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
• Be working as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
• Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
• Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing based clinical areas
• Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return
• Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.

Main duties of the job

As a Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will
