Job summary

Woking Hospital, Pharmacy department, is recruiting a Pharmacy Assistant on a full-time, permanent basis. The role includes dispensing medicines for outpatients, assisting with ward work and stock management. Salary is £25,545 per annum for 37.5 hours per week, with Saturday rotation.

Qualifications

• Must have completed dispensing assistant course.
• Experience in a patient-facing role preferred.
• Excellent numeracy and basic maths skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in administrative tasks.
• Accurately dispense medicines for outpatients.
• Help prepare take-home medicines for inpatients.
• Aid in the procurement of medicines for the department.
• Support with stock checks and expiry date checking.
• Provide hospital departments with medicines on request.
• Assist the pharmacist with ward work and other duties as appropriate.

An opportunity has arisen for a full time pharmacy assistant to work alongside the pharmacist in delivery of a high quality service to our stakeholders.

As our Pharmacy Assistant you wil l:

• Assist in administrative tasks
• Accurately dispense medicines for outpatients
• Help prepare take home medicines for inpatients
• Aid in the procurement of medicines for the department
• Support with stock take and expiry date checking
• Provide all hospital departments with medicines at their request
• Assist the pharmacist with ward work and other duties as appropriate

To succeed as a Pharmacy Assistant , you will need:

• Have completed dispensing assistant course
• Have experience in patient facing role
• Be fluent in English and have basic numeracy skills
• Be motivated to provide high quality service
• A team player
