Job summary

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Pharmacy Assistant to manage stock control, operate ROWA as a super user, and train junior staff. You will dispense medications in inpatient and outpatient dispensaries, ensure accurate temperature monitoring, and support a busy pharmacy team in delivering safe, efficient pharmaceutical services.

Applicants should have GCSEs in English, Maths and Science, and NVQ 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or be willing to work

Qualifications

• GCSE English/Maths/Science at grade C or above.
• NVQ 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent.
• Willing to work towards hospital pharmacy experience.

Job description

• To manage stock control and be a super user for the Rowa
• Training rotational assistants and other grades of staffing
• Dispense medication in the Inpatient and Outpatient dispensary, STOCK & INVENTORY
• Stock control management including putting stock away received from stores, rotating stock/checking expiries where relevant and performing stock control counts.
• Ensure dispensary areas are sufficiently stocked with all sundries (leaflets, cards, bottles, bags).
• Sort, count, compile and, where relevant, dispose of unsuitable medication returns.
• Carry out daily monitoring of fridge and dispensary temperatures.
• To release and order stock from Stores.
• To be a ROWA Super user and provide training where required.
• To monitor all to follows drugs
• General housekeeping of ROWA.
• Adjust stock/expired stock investigations.
  We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant who is willing to work within a supportive Pharmacy team keen to develop the pharmacy services. The post holder must possess excellent interpersonal, problem solving and time management skills and able to work with a wide range of professionals.The successful candidate will be based in the Dispensary and will be required to work weekends and bank holidays.Previous experience of working in a pharmacy hospital is essential., English, Maths and Science GCSE Grand C or above or equivilant
• NVQ 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivilant (including Dispensing units) or willing to work towards, Previous experience of working in hospital Pharmacy
