Hi, my name is Michelle and I'm the Senior Pharmacist Manager for this team. I'm glad that you have looked at the vacancy and are considering if it is right for you at this point in your career. Are you a UK-registered pharmacist with previous experience in aseptics or manufacturing?

The role offers an exciting opportunity to focus on the aseptic dispensing of doses for patients in clinical trials or other novel agents. As the Accountable Pharmacist, you will lead a dedicated team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, SMT, and healthcare scientists passionate about research. Do you possess excellent technical knowledge and skills combined with positive people management abilities?

The role also involves supporting our manufacturing units for radiopharmaceuticals and hyperpolarised gases. If you haven't done this before, training can be provided.

You will collaborate with a knowledgeable QA team to ensure compliance with GMP and QAAPS standards. Recently (March), CTAS was assessed as Low Risk by the SPS QA inspector, ensuring you will be in capable hands.

As mentioned, I am Michelle, the Senior Pharmacist Manager. If you are a UK-registered pharmacist with relevant experience, this role could be a great fit. It involves leading aseptic dispensing for clinical trials and supporting radiopharmaceutical and hyperpolarised gas manufacturing units, with training provided if needed. You will work closely with QA teams to maintain GMP standards and support the building of a new CTAS facility.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and management for aseptically prepared medicines for clinical trials and specialist care.
  • Act as the Accountable Pharmacist for the Clinical Trials Aseptic Services (CTAS) & manage the unlicensed unit providing injectable IMPs, ATMPs, and high-risk medicines.
  • Ensure aseptic preparation of doses for trials, meeting GCP requirements.
  • Line manage the Production Managers for MHRA MS Radiopharmacy & Hyperpolarising Gas Units, ensuring GMP compliance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to set up clinical trials according to sponsor, UK, trust, and pharmacy standards.
  • Serve as a role model and expert advisor for pharmacy and clinical staff regarding aseptic preparation and ATMPs.
  • Prioritize patient safety and experience, supporting staff well-being.
  • Support the development and commissioning of a new CTAS facility to enhance research capabilities.
