Qualifications

37.5 hours per week (Days to be discussed at interview) (Rotational weekend working, late night and bank holidays)

Permanent

Salary: £24,169 per annum (75% for 12 months if undertaking apprenticeship)

Main duties of the job
  • This role involves processing and picking pharmaceutical stock for ward/clinical areas, visiting wards for pharmacy top-up services, and delivering medication as needed. You will use the pharmacy robot and WellSky system, maintaining a clean environment.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent, e.g., NPA Dispensary Assistants Course) is required to be eligible.
  • Training and enrolment onto the apprenticeship NVQ Level 2 will be considered for suitable candidates with the right skills and enthusiasm.

Job responsibilities
  • Receiving and signing for goods, checking against delivery notes, and recording in the system, with specific procedures for controlled drugs.
  • Maintaining accurate records of deliveries for audit and recall purposes.

Hours of Work
  • Monday to Friday: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm (with 1-hour lunch)
  • Rotational weekends, including bank holidays: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (with 30-minute lunch)
  • Late night rota
Person Specification
Experience and Knowledge
  • Experience in similar roles, pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, and team working.
Qualifications and Training
  • Progress towards NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services.
  • Pharmacy-related NVQ Level 2 modules.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to read instructions, work independently, carry out routine tasks, and communicate effectively.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to recognize limitations.
Personal Qualities
  • Professional, friendly, flexible, and mature.
