Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking PGCE-qualified tutors to support children and young people across West Sussex through personalised 1:1 tuition. Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you will provide tailored educational support to learners who need alternative provision, helping build confidence and engagement.

We welcome tutors from primary to post-16 with flexible hours and a September start, covering Crawley, Worthing, Horsham, Chichester, Bognor Regis and nearby towns.

Qualifications

• PGCE qualification required.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in an educational setting.
• Experience in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons.
• Experience supporting SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs desirable.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, adaptable and professional.
• Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Driver preferred; willingness to travel within West Sussex.

Responsibilities

Flexible Tutoring Opportunities Across West Sussex

We're looking for PGCE-qualified Tutors to support children and young people across West Sussex through personalised 1:1 tuition.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll provide tailored educational support to learners who require alternative provision. Students may range from primary age through to post-16 and often benefit from a personalised approach that helps build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and improve engagement with learning.

Whether your background is in primary, secondary, core subjects, or a specialist subject area, we'd love to hear from you.

We're particularly interested in tutors based in or able to support learners in:

• Crawley
• Worthing
• Horsham
• Chichester
• Bognor Regis
• Littlehampton

Requirements

• PGCE qualification
