Job summary

Blue Cross For Pets in Thirsk is seeking a Rehabilitation Trainer & Behaviour Advisor to join our Behaviour team. You will implement rehabilitation programmes and coach centre teams who care for pets on site, in foster, or post adoption.

Under supervision of an Animal Behaviourist, you will train pets with reward-based methods, assess behaviour, and support owners. The role is full-time (35 hours) with some weekend work and occasional travel to other sites.

Qualifications

Demonstrable experience of pet behaviour and training techniques.
Carrying out behaviour and training programmes for dogs across breeds.
Developing training programmes and delivering to owners/caregivers that are practical and realistic.
Full UK driving licence.
Ability to demonstrate and apply Blue Cross values.

Responsibilities

Implement rehabilitation and training programmes for dogs with reward-based methods.
Coach centre teams and pet owners on behaviour issues.
Assess pets for adoption and support on-site or in foster care.
Collaborate with peers across Blue Cross and support managers.
Occasional travel to other Blue Cross sites; some weekend work.
