Job summary

Assistive Solutions Ltd. is hiring a Freelance Study Skills Tutor to work face-to-face in the Durham area. You will support students with dyslexia and ASC through tailored one-hour sessions, created learning plans, and ongoing progress tracking.

The role is freelance/self-employed, with sessions weekly and monthly invoicing. Ideal candidates hold a DSA-approved body membership, an undergraduate degree, teaching credential, and autism training, plus strong communication and familiarity with

Qualifications

• Membership of a DSA-approved professional body for SpLD support.
• Degree level: Undergraduate degree (Level 6 or above).
• Teaching qualification required.
• Specialist autism training (NAS NMH modules or OPT Aut/ADHD in HE) completed.
• Experience 1:1 study skills support for SpLDs (dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD).
• Ability to tailor support to individual learning needs and use assistive tech.

Responsibilities

• Deliver study skills sessions tailored to individual needs.
• Develop and update personalised learning plans.
• Build rapport with students in initial sessions to assess needs.
• Log sessions using the Assistive App and maintain records.
• Provide monthly summaries for invoicing aligned with guidelines.
• Coordinate with NMH admin for queries or support.
