Job summary

Assistive Solutions in Bournemouth is hiring a Freelance Study Skills Tutor to provide tailored 1:1 study skills support for students with dyslexia and ASC in higher education.

Sessions are delivered face-to-face in the Bournemouth area, typically one hour weekly, with flexible scheduling and monthly invoicing. You will develop personalised learning plans and log progress using the Assistive App.

Qualifications

• DSA-approved professional body membership for SpLD support (e.g., ADSHE, BDA, PATOSS, Dyslexia Guild).
• Degree level: undergraduate degree (Level 6 or above).
• Recognised teaching qualification.
• Specialist autism training, e.g., NAS NMH modules or Optimum Training Course in Higher Education.
• Experience providing 1:1 study skills support to students with SpLDs (dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD).
• Knowledge of strategies to support organisation, time management, academic writing, and independent learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver study skills sessions tailored to students with SpLDs.
• Develop and update individualised learning plans and adjust them regularly.
• Establish rapport with students to understand needs and preferred learning methods.
• Log sessions using the Assistive App and produce monthly summaries for invoicing.
