Job summary

Place Partnership in Horbury, United Kingdom, invites applications for a Personalised Learning Mentor at California Drive Alternative Provision Unit. The role is permanent, 32.5 hours per week, term time plus 2 INSET days, starting as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will provide academic and pastoral support, mentoring individuals and small groups, and work with teachers to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and reintegrate into mainstream lessons with confidence.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (C/4 or above) or equivalent and a Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with vulnerable, disengaged, or hard-to-reach young people, ideally in education.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with pupils and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic and pastoral support across core and option subjects with targeted interventions.
• Mentor and coach individual pupils and support reintegration into mainstream lessons.
• Work with teaching staff to understand pupils' needs and implement effective strategies.
• Promote engagement, confidence and progress through small-group learning.
