Job summary

Outwood Academy Ormesby is seeking a Personalised Learning Centre Co-ordinator to lead the PLC and drive targeted, intervention-based learning for vulnerable students. You will collaborate across agencies, mentor students, and implement bespoke pathways to access qualifications.

The role focuses on identifying cohorts, delivering relevant courses, and supporting progression to further education, apprenticeships, or work, with a strong emphasis on safeguarding and partnership working.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a school environment with young people facing difficulties and vulnerabilities.
• Ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences.
• Excellent time management and organisation skills.
• Proficiency in using standard ICT packages.
• Develop programmes of work to build self-esteem and confidence.

Responsibilities

• Identify student cohorts for the alternative curriculum and deliver relevant courses.
• Act as single point of contact for accessing specialist services (Social/Youth Services, Education Welfare, Probation).
• Develop and implement time-bound action plans with SMART targets to remove barriers to learning.
• Establish and maintain supportive mentoring relationships with students.
• Undertake necessary student testing (e.g., Lucid).
• Support pupils toward further education, apprenticeships, or employment.
