Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a Personalised Learning Assistant for a specialist school in the Southampton area. You will support children with SEND to develop academically and personally, working alongside experienced teachers to help learners reach their potential.

The role involves supporting learning, wellbeing, and independence, with occasional personal care and medical support where needed. UK school experience and safeguarding training are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Teaching Assistant qualification (preferable but not essential)
• Previous experience working in a UK School
• Experience working with children in education or in a similar setting
• Up-to-date safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as training can be provided)

We are seeking caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic Personalised Learning Assistants to join a supportive specialist education school in the Southampton area. This is a rewarding opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers and professionals, helping pupils to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

The Role

As a Personalised Learning Assistant, you will support children and young people with a range of learning difficulties, disabilities, autism, and complex needs. You will play a key role in their learning, development, wellbeing, and independence, while also supporting personal care and medical needs where required.

• Minimum rate of pay: £140 per day


• Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm

Experience and Training

• Teaching Assistant qualification (preferable but not essential)


• Previous experience working in a UK School


• Experience working with children in education or in a similar setting


• Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as training can be provided)

To Be Eligible, You Must

• Hold Right to Work in the UK


• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application


• Provide two professional, child-related references
