Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in North Wales is seeking a highly organised Personal Secretary to support the Deputy Executive Medical Directors in the Office of the Medical Director at Carlton Court, St Asaph. You will provide administrative, organisational and performance support, handling sensitive information with discretion and producing reports to inform senior decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Essential criteria require evidence of effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Essential criteria include advanced knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet packages.
  • Demonstrated office management experience or a management certificate is required.
  • RSA III or equivalent qualification is required.
  • Welsh language ability is desirable.
  • Evidence of CPD / personal development is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide responsive, high-quality business and performance support to the Deputy Executive Medical Directors.
  • Deliver cross-cover support across the senior management team to ensure the Office operates efficiently.
  • Handle and process complex and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Communicate confidently with senior management and stakeholders, including on challenging issues.
  • Support provision, analysis and presentation of OMD-related information.
  • Ensure timely production of reports to inform decision-making across the Health Board.

Office of the Medical Director (OMD)

Location: Carlton Court, St Asaph

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Personal Secretary to support the Deputy Executive Medical Directors (DEMDs) within the Office of the Medical Director. This is an exciting opportunity to provide essential business support at a critical time in the Health Board’s journey. The successful candidate will work closely with the DEMDs, providing comprehensive administrative, organisational, and performance support across their portfolios.

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide responsive, high-quality business and performance support to the Deputy Executive Medical Directors
  • Deliver cross-cover support across the senior management team to ensure the Office operates efficiently and effectively
  • Handle and process complex and sensitive information with a high degree of professionalism and discretion
  • Communicate confidently with senior management and key stakeholders, including on challenging or sensitive issues
  • Support the provision, analysis, and presentation of OMD-related information
  • Ensure the timely production of reports to inform effective decision-making across the Health Board

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
