Selly Oak Trust School in Birmingham is seeking a caring Personal Care Assistant to support pupils with physical, emotional and educational needs. You will assist with personal hygiene, intimate care, continence management, meals and hydration, while promoting dignity and independence.

We are seeking a caring, patient and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our team, supporting pupils with a range of physical, emotional, personal care and educational needs. The successful candidate will work closely with other professionals to assist pupils with personal hygiene, intimate care, menstruation care, continence training, eating and drinking, while promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing at all times. The role includes maintaining accurate records, cleaning and maintaining personal care equipment, and working collaboratively to ensure pupils receive the highest standard of support and build their independent living skills. A strong commitment to safeguarding, excellent teamwork and communication skills, and a compassionate approach to supporting children and young people are essential. Full training and ongoing professional development will be provided.
Salary: £18,408 - £20,722 actual annual salary including SEN allowance
Hours: 30 hours per week, term time only. Working hours are 8:50am to 3:10pm, with a 4:00pm finish on Wednesdays.

Selly Oak pay scale - Band B, Points 9 -18
This is a fixed term contract until 31st December 2027
