Job summary

Leicestershire County Council Shared Lives Service is seeking experienced Personal Assistants to support a child with autism, global development delay, and learning disabilities in the Heaton area of Newcastle upon Tyne. The role involves 12.5 hours per week per position at £15.00 per hour, with 2 positions available and full supervision required for safety.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with autism in educational settings or through lived experience.
• Ability to provide personal care and mobility assistance.
• Capable of handling challenging behaviours with safety and empathy.

Responsibilities

• Support Reggie to access local community activities.
• Provide personal care and dressing prompts; assist with nappies.
• Assist with wheelchair use, supervision and safety during outings.
• Help Reggie participate in sensory activities and trips to suggest enriching experiences.
