Job summary

Disability North in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a dedicated personal assistant for an 11-year-old boy with Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, PICA and Global developmental delay. The role requires experience with autism, strict supervision, and a calm approach to support daily routines, activities, and personal care in a safe home environment.

The position offers 18 hours per week at £15.00 per hour, with a driver preferred. Applicants must have permission to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with autism.
• Ability to provide patient, calm supervision and safety for a child with ASD and developmental delays.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care such as toileting prompts and assist with after-toileting hygiene.
• Support meals and monitoring food intake.
• Engage AJ in age-appropriate activities and community outings.
• Ensure safety during travel and supervise timekeeping and routine.
