Job summary

Disability North in Byker, Newcastle Upon Tyne, is seeking a personal assistant to support Lucas, a non-verbal child with autism. The role covers term-time hours (2 hours per week) and school holidays (8 hours per week, including weekends), arranged as needed.

A car driver is preferred but not essential. The PA will accompany Lucas to community activities, supervise closely, provide personal care, and ensure safety during outings.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children with autism and challenging behaviours.
• Must be resilient and physically fit to support a sturdy child.
• Ability to supervise closely; Lucas uses a buggy for outings.
