Job summary

Disability North is seeking a dedicated personal assistant to support a 10-year-old child at home initially, with later goals to access community activities. The role requires patience during transitions and vigilance for seizure signs, plus safe handling and personal care tasks.

The PA will collaborate with the family, follow training provided by the parents, and may be driving to activities using a specialist buggy if needed. A valid UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with epilepsy and disabilities.
• Able to lift and handle a wheelchair safely.
• Patient and good with transitions.

Responsibilities

• Personal care support including dressing, hygiene, toileting and grooming.
• Prompts and assistance with eating and drinking.
• Assist with daily living activities and community access.
• Support with outings and activities at home and in the community.
