Job summary

Disability North is recruiting a part-time personal assistant to support a 16-year-old with Autism and a Learning Disability in Fenham, Newcastle upon Tyne. The role involves accompanying him to activities, managing routines, and providing personal care when needed, with a halal dietary requirement to follow.

The position requires a driver and the ability to work 15 hours per week in term time and 18.5 hours per week during school holidays, with flexibility for weekend involvement if required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a personal assistant supporting a young person with autism.
• Able to assist with personal care and toileting prompts.
• Driver with a valid UK license is essential.

Responsibilities

• Accompany Ayyub to chosen venues or activities (parks, pools, centres).
• Assist with daily routines and regulation during sensory moments.
• Support dining out, ensuring Halal dietary requirements are observed.
