Job summary

Disability North is hiring a Personal Assistant in Newcastle upon Tyne to support Wiktoria, a 10-year-old with learning disabilities and high-functioning autism. The role is 5.5 hours per week, including weekends, at £14.00 per hour.

You will provide personal care, assist with feeding and communication using Makaton, and help her access local pools and parks. The PA will accompany her to community activities and ensure a safe, supportive environment while promoting independence.

Qualifications

• Experience in personal care and supporting a child with disabilities.
• Ability to use Makaton signs to assist communication.
• Willingness to assist with food preparation and feeding.

Responsibilities

• Assist Wiktoria with personal care duties.
• Help her access community activities, including swimming and parks.
• Support engagement with sensory-friendly places and Tim Lamb Centre.
