Job summary

ENABLE Scotland in Glasgow is seeking Personal Assistants to support people to live independently in Carbeth House, Possilpark. You will provide person-centred care, help with daily living tasks, accompany to appointments, and support engagement in activities that matter to the individual.

No prior care experience is required—training, development and ongoing support are provided. Shifts include days and evenings across a 38-hour week, at £13.45 per hour, with a focus on promoting inclusion,

We are looking for caring, reliable and motivated Personal Assistants to join our dedicated team in Carbeth House in the Possilpark area of Glasgow.

As a Personal Assistant, you will provide person-centred support, helping the people we support to live independently, achieve their personal goals and take part in the activities that matter most to them.

Support may include:

• Personal care prompts and maintaining personal wellbeing
• Medication support where required
• Accompanying on social outings of their choice
• Supporting daily living tasks and household activities, including budgeting
• Accompanying individuals to appointments and social activities
• Promoting choice, independence and inclusion within the community
• Providing emotional support and encouragement to achieve personal outcomes

Joe is a larger than life character who takes pride in his appearance and likes to keep his flat to a high standard and looks for staff input to achieve this.

He has a snooker table in his flat and likes nothing better than a game of snooker and a good laugh with staff. He loves music and has a vast knowledge of different artists and songs throughout the years. Joe gets support throughout the day and utilises this to carry out his love for drawing, watching quizzes (and trying to beat staff), cooking and telling staff jokes which he gets from his Alexa device.

He has a passion for fishing and enjoys doing this in the hotter months with staff or family members. He enjoys watching darts and snooker as well as scrolling through YouTube for "classic" darts matches to rewatch. He is very sociable and likes to eat out with staff. Staff support means a lot to Joe as it helps him achieve the life he wants to live.
