A kind and patient personal assistant is needed to support a bright, intelligent autistic sixteen-year-old girl with a wonderfully dry sense of humour in Truro.
She has a moderate depressive disorder and a restrictive eating disorder and seeks a supportive guide to help her engage in activities that reflect her interests and align with those of her peers.
This role offers an average of 6 hours per week with flexible scheduling.
She has a passion for animals, loves reading, and enjoys nails and beauty.
The ideal candidate will be empathetic, patient, and able to build a trusting, supportive environment. Your role will be to encourage her positive engagement in activities, helping her connect with her interests and boost her confidence.
Experience of working with young people is essential.
A driving licence and access to transport are essential, and a mileage allowance will be provided.
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All offers of employment will be subject to the successful candidate undertaking an enhanced DBS check, the administration process will be undertaken by Cornwall Council.
Pay starts at £12.50 per hour, with potential for increase based on skills and experience.
