Job summary

Academics in Watford is seeking a nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in a specialist setting. The role is permanent and full-time, focusing on helping children feel safe, engaged and supported both in classroom and one-to-one contexts.

You will work closely with teaching staff, deliver tailored interventions, and contribute to pupils' academic progress and emotional wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN
• Ability to work 1:1 and in classroom settings
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and 1:1 support for pupils with ASD and additional educational needs.
• Support teachers in delivering engaging learning activities and tailored interventions.
• Help create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support students' emotional wellbeing and academic progress throughout the school day.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and social development.
