Job summary

Create Education are recruiting a SEN Teacher to join their Early Years Nurture Class in Croydon on a permanent basis. The role focuses on supporting young children with additional needs, delivering engaging lessons and building trusting relationships with pupils.

You may be qualified or unqualified with the right experience; QTS welcome but not essential. The school offers a nurturing environment, immediate start, and salary up to £42,000, with professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience with children with SEN, ASD and/or SEMH.
• Passion for Early Years education and supporting vulnerable learners.
• Nurturing, patient and child-centred approach.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences tailored to individual needs.
• Support children with ASD, SEMH and other additional needs.
• Create a calm, safe and nurturing classroom environment.
• Develop positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider SEN team.
• Adapt activities so every child can access the curriculum.
• Support children’s communication, social and emotional development.
• Monitor progress and contribute towards individual support plans.
• Collaborate with parents, carers and other professionals as needed.
• Encourage independence and positive behaviour through consistent approaches.
