Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with main contractor or specialist fit-out background.
• Experience delivering retail/restaurant/hospitality or commercial fit-out projects.
• Strong commercial awareness with excellent contractual knowledge.
• Experience managing projects through the full commercial lifecycle.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage project costs from contract award through to final account.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, cost reports and commercial updates.
• Price, negotiate and manage project variations.
• Handle valuations, payment applications, notices and final accounts.
• Procure subcontractor packages, analyse tenders and negotiate agreements.
• Review subcontractor accounts and payments.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks while maximising opportunities.
• Provide commercial support to Project Managers throughout the lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and consultants.
• Ensure compliance with JCT/NEC forms of contract where applicable.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

The Role

Working closely with Project Managers and senior stakeholders, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of multiple fast-paced fit-out and refurbishment projects, ensuring profitability, contractual compliance and successful project delivery from inception through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project costs from contract award through to final account.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, cost reports and commercial updates.
• Price, negotiate and manage project variations.
• Manage valuations, applications for payment, contractual notices and final accounts.
• Procure subcontractor packages, analyse tenders and negotiate agreements.
• Review and manage subcontractor accounts and payments.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks while maximising project opportunities.
• Provide commercial support and advice to Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, including JCT and NEC forms of contract where applicable.

About You

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor working for a main contractor or specialist fit-out contractor.
• Previous experience delivering retail, restaurant, hospitality or commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects.
• Strong commercial awareness with excellent contractual knowledge.
• Experience managing projects throughout the full commercial lifecycle.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills.
• Able to work independently while collaborating effectively within project teams.
• Full UK driving licence and own transport.
