Job summary

GR8 Recruitment is seeking a reliable HGV Driver in Jersey to support civil engineering and utility operations across the Island. You will transport plant, materials, and equipment to project sites and help ensure safe, on-time deliveries while complying with local regulations and company procedures.

The role requires a Jersey HGV licence, CPC qualification preferred, and proven experience in civil engineering, construction, or utilities.

Qualifications

• Valid Jersey HGV driving licence is required.
• CPC qualification (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) preferred.
• Experience in civil engineering, construction, or utility sectors is highly desirable.
• Good knowledge of Jersey roads and regulations.
• Strong commitment to health and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional overtime.
• Experience operating plant or machinery (e.g., HIAB, tipper trucks).
• Basic site skills or willingness to assist ground crews.

Responsibilities

• Operate Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV) to transport construction materials, machinery, and equipment.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and ensure roadworthiness at all times.
• Assist with loading and unloading of materials, ensuring safe handling practices.
• Deliver to multiple sites, adhering to schedules and project deadlines.
• Support site teams when required, including basic labouring duties.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and logs.
• Follow health, safety, and environmental policies on active sites.
• Report any vehicle defects, incidents, or delays promptly.
