Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking a permanent Floor Layer to join the Corporate Property and Land, Strategic Facilities Management, Repairs and Maintenance Team. The post holder will perform floor laying duties and support the team in site repairs and projects across council facilities.

Applicants should have City and Guilds or NVQ Level 2 in Floor Laying and relevant maintenance experience; a driving licence and DBS clearance are part of pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

• You must be educated to City and Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, in Floor Laying.
• Experience on maintenance and/or contractual projects in industrial and commercial buildings is desirable.
• Ability to engage with customers and stakeholders, deliver a quality finish, and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Floor Laying duties as required by the Roofing, Painting and Flooring Manager.
• Work in a busy repairs and maintenance section within Durham County Council establishments.
• May work on major construction projects carrying out joinery works.
