Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking a permanent Floor Layer to join the Corporate Property and Land, Strategic Facilities Management, Repairs and Maintenance Team. You will perform floor laying duties and contribute to maintenance and capital projects, ensuring quality finishes in busy council facilities.

The role requires City and Guilds Level 2 in Floor Laying or equivalent, with desirable experience in industrial/commercial settings.

Qualifications

• Educated to City and Guilds or NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Floor Laying.
• Experience in maintenance and/or contractual projects in industrial/commercial buildings is desirable.
• Ability to engage with customers and stakeholders; deliver quality finishes; work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out floor laying duties as required by the Roofing, Painting and Flooring Manager and the Strategic Facilities Management Team.
• Work in a busy repairs and maintenance section within Durham County Council establishments; may work on major construction projects carrying out joinery works.
