Job summary

Daleview Nursing Home in Derry/Londonderry is hiring Care Assistants for permanent full-time positions with a choice of day or night shifts. You will deliver high-quality, person-centred care, assist with daily living activities, and support residents with dignity and wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 6 months' experience caring for vulnerable adults within a formal care setting
  • Willingness to work towards a QCF Level 2 qualification
  • Current NISCC registration or willingness to register within six months of employment

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, compassionate and person-centred care to residents.
  • Assist with personal care including washing, dressing, toileting and eating.
  • Promote residents' dignity, privacy and independence.
  • Monitor residents' wellbeing and report any changes in health or behaviour.
  • Report accidents, incidents and concerns appropriately to senior staff.
  • Encourage social interaction, engagement and meaningful activities.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
  • Accompany residents to appointments and outings when required.
  • Ensure residents are comfortable, clean and well-presented at all times.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment within the home.

The Role

As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of residents by delivering high-quality, person-centred care within a warm, professional and nurturing environment.

You will support residents with their daily living activities while promoting independence, comfort, dignity and emotional wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Criteria

Applicants must have either:

  • NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)

OR

  • A minimum of 6 months' experience caring for vulnerable adults within a formal care setting

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to work towards a QCF Level 2 qualification if not already achieved.
  • Current NISCC registration or willingness to register within six months of employment.
