Job summary

Dovehaven Care Homes is seeking a Senior Care Assistant for night shifts at Paradise House, Leyland. You’ll lead a small team, ensure safe, dignified care, and maintain high standards overnight.

A 44-hour week with 12-hour shifts on a rota basis and a real living wage with premium pay on care workers awaits the right candidate. We look for calm, dependable, and compassionate team players who can supervise others, follow CQC guidelines, and deliver person-centred care.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an elderly care setting.
  • Supervisory experience within a care or nursing home.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care essential.
  • Alternate weekend availability and enhanced DBS.
  • No sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering personal care with dignity and compassion.
  • Support residents’ emotional wellbeing and independence.
  • Manage and support the care team during your shift.
  • Supervise and support less experienced staff.
  • Ensure care staff adhere to CQC guidelines and best practices.
  • Promote high standards of care throughout the home.
  • Work closely with colleagues to maintain a safe environment.
  • Accurately completing care documentation and handovers.
  • Take responsibility and use initiative when required.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll play a key role in helping residents feel safe, comfortable and cared for throughout the night whilst supporting the wider care team to deliver exceptional standards of care.

This includes:

Essential Requirements
