Job summary

Spire Southampton Hospital is seeking a highly motivated Perioperative Practitioner/SFA to join our Theatre Team on a permanent full-time basis. You will scrub for consultant-led surgeries and contribute to a high-performing unit.

We will consider a qualified ODP or Scrub Nurse with orthopaedic or cardiac scrub experience. You must be NMC or HCPC registered with no pin restrictions and have at least two years’ scrub experience in a surgical/theatre setting.

Qualifications

• Qualified ODP or Scrub Nurse with experience in orthopaedics or cardiac scrub.
• Surgical First Assistant experience is desirable.
• NMC or HCPC registered with no restrictions on PIN.
• At least 2 years scrub experience in a surgical/theatre setting.
• Demonstrated track record in a surgical/theatre environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in scrubbing for consultant-led surgeries across varying complexity and specialisms.
• Assess patient health and wellbeing across a complex and changing caseload.
• Develop care plans aligned with care pathway, perioperative risks and wellbeing.
• Provide planned care and assist in management and organisation of operating theatre care.

Perioperative Practitioner Scrub / SFA | Theatre | Private Hospital | Southampton | Full-time Permanent

Spire Southampton are recruiting for a highly motivated and experienced Perioperative Practitioner/SFA to join our high performing Theatre Team on a permanent Full-time basis. We will consider a qualified ODP or Scrub Nurse with experience in either Orthopaedic scrub or Cardiac scrub.

Our Critical Care department and multidisciplinary team offer you peace of mind for our wide range of treatments.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Assist in scrubbing for consultant led surgeries that vary in complexity and specialism, such as orthopaedics
• You will assess patient's health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload.
• Develop care plans that are appropriate to the patient, taking into consideration the care pathway, perioperative risks and their wellbeing
• Provide exemplary planned care for patients and assist in the management and organisation of care provision in the operating theatre

Who we're looking for

• Qualified ODP/Scrub Nurse
• Surgical First Assistant desirable
• NMC or HCPC registered with no restrictions on your pin.
• At least 2 years scrub experience in either orthopaedics or cardiac
• Have been employed in a surgical/Theatre setting.
• You will be highly motivated and used to working in challenging but rewarding environment

Working Hours:

Full-time, 37.5 hours on rota basis
