NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a Registered Mental Nurse to join the Community Adult Mental Health Team in Glasgow. You will assess, treat and care for adults with mental health needs, working within a multidisciplinary team and managing a defined caseload.

The role requires RMN registration, Band 5 experience preferred, and strong communication and leadership skills to provide patient-centered care with dignity and respect.

Qualifications

• Registered RMN with live NMC registration.
• Band 5 level experience in a clinical area preferred.
• Evidence of post‑basic professional development.
• Evidence of effective leadership skills commensurate with the Band 5 role.
• Evidence of excellent team working skills.
• Ability to work using own initiative and without direct supervision.
• Effective communication skills.
• Effective listening and interpersonal skills.
• Driving licence.

Responsabilités

• Functioning as Named Nurse / Keyworker, within a multi‑disciplinary team, to a defined patient caseload.
• The assessment of care needs and the planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.
• Carrying out all relevant forms of nursing care pertinent to the needs of individual patients and/or delegating all or aspects of care to a named Health Care Assistant.
• Identifying and responding to the health promotion needs of patients under his/her care.
• Identifying and responding to the needs of patients which might be related to gender health, domestic abuse, child protection.
• Maintaining accurate records of nursing care
• Developing therapeutic relationships with patients and carers thereby ensuring that care needs are identified and met within a participative framework which recognises the principles of equality, dignity and respect and which takes into account spiritual and cultural diversity.
• Ensuring that personal practice (and that of Health Care Assistants to whom the post-holder has delegated duties) is in line with the principles underpinning the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 and those of the ‘Patient Focus Public Involvement’ and ‘Fair for All’ guidelines.
