Job summary

ASSYSTEM is seeking an experienced Performance Manager with a strong background in project controls to support delivery and performance of a portfolio of complex projects. You will provide clear performance information across cost, schedule, risk, change and overall project performance.

You will work with Project Managers, Project Controls, Commercial, Finance and senior stakeholders to ensure effective controls, identify issues early and drive improvement across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Significant experience within project controls or PMO environments.
• Experience with complex energy, infrastructure, construction or major capital projects.
• Strong understanding of baseline management, variance analysis and reporting.
• Experience translating data into clear management information.
• Experience developing and managing project and portfolio KPIs.
• Excellent Excel and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of project performance management processes across projects and programmes.
• Establish and maintain consistent project controls and performance reporting standards.
• Monitor cost, schedule, risk, change, resources and key deliverables.
• Develop and maintain performance dashboards and management information for project and senior leadership teams.
• Analyse project data to identify trends, variances, risks, opportunities and emerging performance issues.
• Provide clear commentary and insight into project performance, highlighting key areas requiring management attention.
• Work closely with Planning, Cost, Commercial and Risk teams to ensure data is accurate, aligned and integrated.
• Monitor performance against baselines, budgets and milestones.
• Support Earned Value Management and other performance measurement techniques where appropriate.
• Develop and maintain project and portfolio-level KPIs and performance indicators.
• Lead regular performance reviews with project teams and challenge performance where appropriate.
• Identify root causes of performance issues and develop corrective actions.
• Monitor effectiveness of mitigation actions.
• Support governance, reporting cycles and senior management reviews.
• Ensure project controls data is presented clearly.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement of project controls systems and reporting.
• Support lessons learned and best practice across the portfolio.
• Provide coaching and guidance on performance management and project controls.
