Rolls-Royce plc in Solihull is seeking a Mechanical Control Units - Performance Analysis to join the Design team. You will translate requirements into analytical models for fuel pump elements, aiding in performance, efficiency and reliability of Rolls-Royce aero-engine products.
The role involves multi-physics modelling, collaboration with design engineers, and contributing to research with university partners to shape future fuel system technologies. Closing Date: 12 October 2026.
Competenze
- Degree in Physics, Maths, Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of fluid mechanics, engineering mechanics, aerospace fuel pumps and fuel control systems.
- Good knowledge of numerical analysis techniques.
- Programming methods – object-oriented.
- Experience with MATLAB, Ansys Mechanical, Mathcad and Prime.
Mansioni
- Run multi-physics fuel pump analytical models to study tribology, bearing loading and pressure distribution.
- Create and maintain fuel system analytical models for steady-state performance.
- Deploy analytical techniques to optimise stability of fuel control operation.
- Work with Design Engineers to optimise sizing and geometry from model output.
- Provide technical support to in-service investigations and fleet issues.
- Contribute to R&D projects with university partners for new model development.
