Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc is seeking a Critical Part Lifing Engineer in Derby with a hybrid work pattern. You will perform Aeros/Thermal, Acoustic and Structural analyses and experiments to optimise designs, delivering robust solutions within cost and schedule targets.

The role requires strong mechanical design knowledge, cross-disciplinary understanding, and the ability to apply analytical thinking and engineering judgement across projects. Collaboration and continuous improvement are key.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong technical knowledge in mechanical design methodologies and cross-discipline concepts.
• Nuclear-specific knowledge including mechanical design, hydrodynamics, thermodynamics, stress analysis and fatigue.
• Roles include project and change management, design verification and manufacturing support.
• Ability to apply analytical thinking and engineering judgement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Aeros/Thermal, Acoustic and Structural mechanical design and analysis.
• Conduct Aeros/Thermal, Acoustic and Structural mechanical experiments.
• Resolve problems through evaluative judgements using technical knowledge and engineering judgement.
• Deliver defined technical packages against programme milestones, cost, timescale and quality requirements.
• Share subject matter knowledge across the function and advise customers as needed.
