Qualifications

We are looking for a kind and attentive Chaplain to work Per Diem. In this position, the Chaplain will coordinate the spiritual needs of the Hospice House in accordance with the philosophy, mission and standards established by the Agency.

What will you be doing:
  • Coordinate spiritual assessment, counseling and support to patients and families by embracing an ecumenical spirit of all faith and non-faith perspectives.
  • Partner with Hospice RN Case Manager, the Hospice Clinical Manager and Spiritual Coordinators to determine patient priorities.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team and participate in case conferences, staff meetings and other meetings as requested.
  • Ensure spiritual programs provided recognizes and addresses the diverse religious, cultural, and spiritual values and customs related to illness, death and mourning.
  • Demonstrate and apply knowledge of emotional, social and spiritual needs and responses to death and grief.
  • Provide home visits to clients.
  • Participate in utilization review and quality assurance activities as requested by the Agency.
What we’re looking for in you:
  • Clinical pastoral education (CPE) minimum of 2 units required.
  • Board Certification preferred.
  • Two (2) years of experience in healthcare preferred.
  • 3 plus years of experience in Hospice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Knowledge of spiritual issues common during illness, death and bereavement.
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills.
  • Skilled in maintaining boundaries.
  • Creative, good work ethic and dependable.
  • Ability to cover full South Shore territory.
