Job summary

Salford City Council is hiring a People Technology and Information Coordinator to shape the future of HR systems and workforce data. You will develop iTrent, automate processes and produce insightful reports that influence people services decisions.

You’ll collaborate across HR, payroll, data and digital teams, turning data into action while championing information quality and privacy. This role offers hands-on system development, testing, and governance across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting, administering or developing an HR/payroll or similar business system.
• Experience in data reporting or MI for HR functions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel with accuracy and speed.
• Experience testing system changes and supporting process improvements.
• Ability to investigate problems and find practical solutions.
• Understanding of data quality, information security and GDPR principles.
• Ability to explain systems or information clearly to non-technical colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Shape and improve HR technology, administrating iTrent and other HR systems.
• Translate ideas into system changes from testing through implementation and change control.
• Identify opportunities for automation, self-service and more efficient processes.
• Turn workforce data into insightful reports to support decisions.
• Investigate system and data issues and work with partners to fix them.
• Champion high-quality information, supporting data quality checks and audits.
• Provide clear, practical guidance to colleagues and managers on using our systems.
