Job summary

Salford City Council is seeking a People Technology and Information Coordinator to shape how we use technology, data and insight to deliver better HR services. You’ll develop and improve our people systems, automate processes and turn workforce data into meaningful insights using tools like iTrent, Power BI and Tableau.

This role offers the opportunity to work across HR, payroll and analytics teams, test changes, implement improvements and provide practical guidance to colleagues.

Qualifications

• Analytical thinking and data interpretation to turn workforce data into insights.
• Ability to collaborate across HR, OD, Payroll, Digital, Data and Technology teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a practical approach to system issues.
• Proficiency with HR information systems and data reporting tools (e.g., iTrent, Power BI, Tableau).
• Attention to data quality, information security and UK GDPR compliance.
• Clear communication to non-technical stakeholders about systems and information.

Responsibilities

• Shape and improve our HR technology, supporting administration and ongoing development of iTrent.
• Turn ideas into improvements, taking system changes from testing through to implementation and change control.
• Make processes simpler, identifying opportunities for automation, self-service and better ways of working.
• Bring workforce data to life, producing reports and identifying trends and insights for decisions.
• Be a problem solver, investigating system and data issues with colleagues and partners to find practical solutions.
• Champion good-quality information, supporting data-quality checks, reconciliations, statutory reporting and audits.
• Help people get the best from our systems with clear, practical guidance to colleagues and managers.
