Job summary

Mitie is seeking an experienced People Support TUPE & Acquisition Supervisor to lead day-to-day delivery of TUPE In, TUPE Out and acquisition payroll activity, ensuring transfers are completed accurately and on time. You will lead the TUPE & Acquisitions team and collaborate with HR, Finance, IT and mobilisation teams to deliver an accurate payroll service and positive employee experience.

This 12-month FTC role offers remote work with travel to Gloucester and Birmingham as required, 37.5 hours

Qualifications

• Knowledge of TUPE In, TUPE Out and acquisition payroll processes.
• Experience leading/coordinating a team and managing changing workloads.
• Proven ability to deliver process improvements from diagnosis to implementation and benefits review.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of TUPE In, TUPE Out and acquisition payroll activity, monitoring milestones, data quality, risks and dependencies to ensure timely transfers.
• Provide day-to-day leadership to the TUPE & Acquisitions team, including work allocation, coaching, appraisals and development.
• Act as the first point of escalation for complex payroll queries and delivery risks, resolving issues through to resolution.
• Build relationships with HR, Finance, IT, mobilisation teams, stakeholders and providers to support successful transfers.
• Lead continuous improvement across end-to-end TUPE and acquisition processes using data, audits and root-cause analysis to strengthen controls and reduce manual activity.

You'll lead and develop the TUPE & Acquisitions team while working closely with HR, Finance, IT, mobilisation teams, the Bid Team and other stakeholders to deliver an accurate payroll service and positive employee experience.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of all TUPE In, TUPE Out and acquisition payroll activity, monitoring key milestones, data quality, risks and dependencies to ensure transfers are completed accurately and on time.
• Provide clear day-to-day leadership to the TUPE & Acquisitions team, including work allocation, resource planning, coaching, one-to-ones, appraisals, training and development.
• Act as the first point of escalation for complex payroll queries, delivery risks, data issues and stakeholder concerns, taking ownership through to resolution.
• Build effective relationships with HR, Finance, IT, mobilisation teams, contract stakeholders, incumbent providers and other payroll teams to support successful employee transfers.
• Lead continuous improvement across end-to-end TUPE and acquisition processes, using data, colleague feedback, audit findings and root-cause analysis to strengthen controls, reduce manual activity and improve service delivery.

What We're Looking For

• Practical knowledge of TUPE In, TUPE Out and acquisition payroll processes, supported by strong payroll administration knowledge.
• Previous experience of leading, coaching or coordinating colleagues, with the ability to set priorities and manage changing workloads.
• Demonstrable experience of delivering process improvements from initial diagnosis through to testing, implementation and benefits review.
• Excellent organisational, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and elevate concerns appropriately.
• Strong attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll or HR systems, ideally including SAP or an equivalent platform.
