Job summary

Thames Valley Police invites applications for an Intelligence Analyst within the Major Crime Team on a fixed-term contract. The role provides high-level analytical support to senior officers to aid prevention, targeting, disruption and detection of crime.

You will use analytical techniques to produce intelligence products for strategic and tactical planning and to inform decisions. The position requires travel across the Force and a full UK driving licence.

Band 4I, £47,688 per annum, plus On Call, plus benefits

Part/Full Time Full Time - All roles are available for flexible working including job sharing and part-time unless there are legitimate operational / business reasons why this cannot be accommodated

FTC/Secondment: 18 months from start date

An exciting opportunity to work as an Intelligence Analyst within the Major Crime Team on a secondment/fixed term contract basis.

In this role, you will be required to provide a high-level of analytical support to senior operational police officers to assist in the prevention, targeting, disruption and detection of crime.

You will use analytical techniques to create intelligence products to inform relevant strategic and tactical planning to the standard defined within the National Intelligence Model. Provide an efficient and effective service to support managerial, operational and investigative decision-making. Make recommendations to drive business activity and assess threat harm and risk.

You will have to work effectively with minimum supervision whilst remaining team focussed, with proven research and problem-solving skills.

The successful candidate must have capability to travel to different locations across the Force and undertake all assignments in a timely manner. Due to the requirement to work flexibly, unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working; public transport may not be available or suitable at these times. For this reason, a full UK driving licence is considered essential.

This is a hybrid role, consisting of 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home.
