Tesco is seeking a Reporting & Analytics Data Partner to translate complex people data questions into trusted reporting, insights, and data products. This role drives end-to-end ownership of analytics services, collaborates with People teams, and ensures outputs align with governance and business priorities.

The candidate will lead data-driven decision making across workforce topics, leveraging modern tools and AI-enabled capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Owning end-to-end performance of reporting, analytics, and insight services across assigned business domains.
  • Managing demand, priorities, and delivery within a clearly defined and outcome-focused service model.
  • Ensuring reporting products remain relevant, scalable, user-focused, and aligned to business priorities.
  • Driving continuous improvement of reporting services, dashboards, and analytical outputs.
  • Monitoring adoption, effectiveness, and stakeholder satisfaction to ensure reporting services deliver value.
  • Delivering insightful analysis across workforce topics, including composition, effectiveness, colleague experience, resourcing, reward, wellbeing, performance, capability, and diversity and inclusion.
  • Identifying trends, risks, opportunities, and emerging workforce issues through interpretation of people data.
  • Supporting strategic decision making through evidence-based insight and analysis.
  • Providing forward-looking, scenario-based, and business-focused analysis to inform planning.
  • Communicating complex findings clearly to different audiences.
  • Acting as a trusted reporting and analytics partner to People teams and business stakeholders.
  • Building understanding of priorities, challenges, and objectives; translating needs into reporting requirements.

  • Promoting adoption and reuse of scalable reporting products.
  • Supporting evolution of reporting services through standardisation and best practice.
  • Leveraging automation, AI-enabled capabilities, and analytics to improve efficiency and insight generation.
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort and enhance processes.
  • Supporting predictive, diagnostic, and scenario-based analytics where appropriate.
  • Contributing to innovative analytical approaches that improve decision making.
  • Working with analytics, technology, and data teams to embed modern tools into reporting services.
  • Ensuring reporting outputs meet quality and governance standards.
  • Applying validation, quality controls, and assurance processes.
  • Supporting implementation of people data governance standards.
  • Collaborating with Data Governance, Technology, and operations to resolve data quality issues.
  • Maintaining stakeholder trust and data integrity throughout reporting processes.

About the role

The Reporting & Analytics Data Partner acts as a trusted partner to People and business stakeholders, translating complex business questions into meaningful reporting, insights, and analytical solutions. The role is responsible for delivering trusted and actionable people data products, supporting evidence-based decision making, and ensuring reporting services are aligned to strategic business priorities. Through strong stakeholder partnership, analytical expertise, and effective data governance, the role enables greater understanding of workforce trends, organisational performance, and colleague outcomes. The Reporting & Analytics Data Partner supports the development of data-driven decision making across the organisation by improving data literacy, increasing adoption of reporting and self-service solutions, and helping stakeholders derive meaningful actions from insight. This role combines stakeholder engagement, reporting expertise, analytical thinking, and service ownership to ensure reporting products are scalable, consistent, well-governed, and capable of meeting evolving business needs.

You will be responsible for
People Reporting & Insight Service Ownership

  • Identifying trends, risks, opportunities, and emerging workforce issues through the interpretation of people data.
  • Supporting strategic decision making through evidence-based insight and analysis.

Stakeholder Partnership & Consultancy

Advanced Analytics, Automation & AI
  • Leveraging automation, AI-enabled capabilities, and analytical techniques to improve efficiency, accessibility, and insight generation.
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort and enhance reporting processes.
  • Supporting the application of predictive, diagnostic, and scenario-based analytics where appropriate.
