Job summary

Leicester City Council’s Estates & Building Services is seeking a People Manager to lead across the division, coaching managers and teams to build capability and improve performance. You will embed consistent people management processes and drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

This role focuses on developing others, streamlining processes and supporting organisational change, with emphasis on wellbeing, inclusion and effective collaboration across services.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams and coaching managers to develop capability.
• Ability to introduce and embed people management processes and standards across a large division.
• Strong focus on performance management, development conversations and feedback.
• Capability to support organisational change and transformation programmes.
• Commitment to wellbeing, inclusion, engagement and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor and support managers and teams to build capability and confidence.
• Introduce and embed effective people management processes and standards across the division.
• Help improve performance through clear objectives, regular feedback and meaningful development conversations.
• Support organisational change, service improvements and transformation programmes.
• Champion employee wellbeing, inclusion, engagement and professional development.
• Manage key people processes across the employee lifecycle, including induction, attendance, wellbeing, performance and development.
• Work collaboratively across services to strengthen relationships and improve how teams work together.
• Use insight and feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and help deliver lasting change.
