Job description

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a People Partner to join our people team at our head office in Liverpool, UK. As a people partner, you will provide a key interface between the People team and the designated global client group to embed a strategic approach to people management. You will be working in partnership with managers and employees to provide professional, customer-focused, commercially-informed People Management advice and solutions that support and build organisational and people capabilities.

This role will have a strong talent focus, helping to design and build on work already done to ensure AHK has a global talent and leadership development approach that is focused on bringing the right talent through at the right time. You will deliver the A-Z of ‘People’ support, but you will have a large support infrastructure to work alongside and support you. From Peru to Zambia, to Indonesia and China, this role is a must for those who wish to develop a global People/ HR career.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight, you will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present clear, well-structured reports and briefs. Confident presenter with the ability to influence at a senior level.
  • ‘Right first time’ approach, completes work to a high standard, continually looking for improvements and strong problem-solvers, high level of attention to detail is key within this role.
  • Takes responsibility for initiating and completing tasks, manages priorities and time to successfully meet deadlines. Dynamic with the ability to deal with multiple varied projects at any one time.
  • Handles pressure and ambiguity well, exercises good judgment and handles challenges in a mature manner. Flexibility and pragmatism when dealing with change.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Builds and maintains positive working relationships with their own team and more widely. Able to work as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Coaching and mentoring, being a critical friend and influencing skills.

Required Work Experience

  • Demonstrable track record of progression within a relevant People function in a complex/matrix structure, preferably a Global company.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a complex People function at ‘Generalist/People Advisor’ level or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with business leaders on strategic workforce planning and talent development.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing projects and delivering successful outcomes.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing innovative approaches to complex problems.
  • Demonstrable experience in supporting complex ER cases.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: BA / BSc Degree in HR, business or psychology.
  • Minimum CIPD Level 5 in HR.

Required Languages

  • Languages: A second language is desirable.
