Job summary

Albany Growth is partnering with an established technology business to recruit an Engineering Manager who will lead a software engineering team and shape engineering culture. You will coach engineers, manage performance and hiring, and raise delivery standards while remaining technically credible to challenge decisions.

The role focuses on coaching, career progression and building high-performing teams, with emphasis on CI/CD, automated testing, and modern tooling.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 6–8 software engineers including seniors
• Own coaching, 1:1s, career progression, performance management and hiring
• Improve engineering processes, delivery effectiveness and team productivity
• Challenge senior engineers on standards, testing, quality and best practices
• Own engineering tooling, infrastructure practices, CI/CD and automated testing standards
• Support AI-assisted and agentic engineering practices
• Collaborate with Product, Design and Tech Leads to deliver effectively
• Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
