This role shapes how a growing team works, champions AI-driven development, and helps build the foundation for a future Director-level organization.

The position blends hands-on coding with people leadership (80–90%), with relocation assistance for the right candidate and a clear path to growth as the group expands

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of people-management experience over software developers.
• Hands-on coding ability to stay technically credible.
• 80–90% time in people leadership.
• Experience working with product managers.
• Willingness to work on site in Birmingham, AL, 8–5.
• Experience migrating front-end frameworks or modernization efforts.
• Exposure to AI tools to accelerate development.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of software engineers.
• Partner with product managers to prioritize and deliver work.
• Guide development of web applications and an internally built platform.

Compensation

• Up to $160,000, depending on experience + bonuses

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 3–5 software engineers
• Partner with product managers to prioritize and deliver work
• Guide development of web applications and an internally built platform
• Champion AI tools that accelerate the team's development

What You'll Need to be Considered
