People Data Reporting Lead — Power BI & Insights

Job summary

Grant Thornton UK is seeking a People Data Reporting Manager to translate HR data into actionable insights and drive reporting across People & Culture. You will work closely with the Data Office to ensure governance and data quality, delivering narrative-led insights for board-level decisions.

You will own ad-hoc reporting, interpret Power BI dashboards, and build strong relationships with P&C leadership, analysts, and other partners while supporting flexible working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of HR data and metrics (e.g. workforce, talent, reward, engagement, DE&I).
• Confident user of Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate data into a clear, decision-ready recommendation for a non-technical audience.
• Ability to work at pace across a variety of concurrent, ad-hoc requests, prioritising effectively within a business-as-usual reporting cycle.
• A strong understanding of data protection and governance in an HR context.
• Experience in an HR, People Analytics or Reporting Analyst role, ideally within professional services or a similarly matrixed organisation.
• Hands-on experience with core HR systems, particularly Workday.
• A relevant professional qualification, such as CIPD, or a professional qualification in data or analytics.

Responsibilities

• Ad-hoc reporting and analysis for day-to-day reporting and data queries from P&C leadership and teams.
• Dashboard consumption and interpretation of existing Power BI reports and dashboards to answer P&C questions.
• Translate people data into clear, decision-ready narrative for P&C leadership.
• Liaise with the People Data Analyst and Data Office on data/model changes.
• Flag new data requirements, quality issues or definition gaps to the People Data Analyst and Data Office.
• Apply the Data Office's data classification and access control standards when handling sensitive P&C data.
• Build stakeholder confidence in P&C reporting through clear narrative and governance alignment.
